CPD Requirements

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Requirements

The Podiatrists Board currently requires that practitioners who wish to hold an Annual Practising Certificate, undertake the Board’s continuing competence CPD Recertification programme.

The new CPD requirements, (introduced 1 January 2018), are based on a 2 yearly cycle. All practitioners need to read and be familiar with the Board’s CPD Recertification Policy and its requirements, as well as the associated documentation assisting with information on undertaking CPD activity and related CPD Audit Policies.

CPD Online  Login

Practioners must now record their CPD hours online, using the login and their practitioner portal. As a one off exception for this introductory year, practitoners are able to record and gain credit for their CPD activities undertaken in 2017 as well, that will count towards their first 2 year cycle period of 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2019.

CPD Audit

The Board undertakes a semi-random audit of approximately ten percent of practising podiatrists annually. Audits will be undertaken online, with assessments of practitioners’ CPD on their practitioner portal. Practitoners are generally provided with a few months notice before any full audit is conducted.
